  1. Best Short TM Rod
This rod is the best 6'6" rod that I have owned. It casts really well paired with the Ballo reel and 4 lb SOS. I was using this rod for crappie fishing and loved it. These products keep getting better and better. Good luck and good fishing.

  2. Ultimate panfish setup!!!
I live in Western Colorado and rarely use anything other than Leland baits, with the exception of Berkley gulp alive. I bought one of these rods for trout, crappie, and bluegill. Perfect rod!!! Awesome!!! I will be ordering 3 or 4 more!

  4. Trout Slayer Series Rod
Great rod for $50 man. The handle is a definite advantage, long accurate casts. Rod overall very light pleasant to use all day. First day out with mine, NYS on Good Friday morning, first fish 15.5 " brown trout. What a fight fat chunky brown. Used it on crappie this past Saturday, Long casts, no trouble pulling fish out of weeds. Very Pleased!

  5. Great Rod!!!
Immediately out of the box, I was impressed by the feel of this rod. At 2.8 oz, it feels light as a feather. I paired it with a small Pflueger reel. It balanced perfectly. Also for a nice surprise, it actually came in a nice, nylon rod sleeve/sock! It is a fast action rod which allowed me to cast pretty effortlessly. There is enough bend to fight a fish, but not so much it is difficult to set the hook. When I called Trout Magnet asking about the rod, they advised not to attempt to lift heavy fish out of the water with the rod as most breakages are caused as a result of boat flipping fish. I was careful to net heavier fish instead which was fine. In summary I'm very pleased with my purchase and will likely replace some other rods with this one as well. Fishing all day with this rod will be a pleasure and I look forward to many more trips with this as my primary rod.

  6. Great Rod
I have used this rod mainly for panfish and couldn’t be happier. I paired with the Sedona reel and it’s extremely well balanced. I’m using the 2lb SOS line and the panfish magnets - I’m always catching something!

  7. A Very Nice Rod
This is actually my second TSS rod. I love my first one so much I wanted a backup rod just in case. For an American style rod, this UL is different from what you usually see in the stores, and gives you a great action. I read a lot of thought went into the design, and I believe it. Last season I pounded my local stream with trout magnets, and this year I will be adding Trout Slayer Craws to the mix. The rod is very sensitive and bites are easy to detect. I haven't tried plugs as of yet, but in the 3 gram weights should be a blast to fish. I highly recommend this rod to you - it is a tough UL rod that will up your fun factor with Gills, Crappie, Smallmouth and Trout. A great value for your fishing dollar! Leyland has been a very nice company to do business with!

  8. TSS as I see through use on the water.
I very much enjoy my 6'6" rod. I like it's forgiving tip (for protecting light lines) with sufficient backbone to haul in a lunker, ANY lunker panfish or trout, out of the current and to the boat or bank. So far the ONLY complaint I have is the reel seat: it is designed with a "limiter" as to how small a reel foot can be securely clamped to the rod. After buying my TSS, I next bought a Mitchell 310Pro as it's 6.9oz centers the weight of the combo in the hand. This eliminates wrist fatigue after a long day's fishing that comes with having to LIFT the rod tip due to a heavy weight-forward. Sadly, the Mitchell's foot was too small for the rod's seat clamp to tighten down enough for a secure fit. I was able to shim the foot enough with thick paper to get a tight fit: but who wants paper sticking out from the reel seat of your best fishing rig? Otnwould only take moving the limiting shoulder of the reel seat , or eliminating it altogether, to cure this one problem with the rod as I see it. The Mitchell is in the 500 size range and I only had to move up to a 1000 sized reel to solve this problem. In ANY CASE, should you use paper to shim a 500 sized reel, or go with a 1000 sized reel for a shimless fit, you will love the rod. Period. So buy one and go out and sore-lip 'em all!

  9. Really fun Rod
A really fun rod that casts very well with light line. Perfect for Trout Magnets. I have really enjoyed using Trout Magnet 2 lb. line and have landed some really nice trout on this light tackle and line.

  10. Highly recommend
I love it, it’s hard for me to use any of my other rods after using the TSS rod, it’s so light you literally can fish all day without getting tired from casting. I’m waiting for the postal service right now to bring my 2nd rod today
